1. Before you start
- Choose the GitHub organization or account and repositories that Seedling should read.
- Use a GitHub owner or administrator who can approve the app installation for those repositories.
- Review the four read permissions before completing installation.
- Do not send GitHub credentials, customer content, personal information, or private record data by email or through an ordinary support ticket.
2. Connect GitHub
- In Seedling, open Connections, select GitHub, and continue to GitHub.
- Choose the target account or organization and select all or specific repositories.
- Review and approve the requested read permissions.
- Return to Seedling, confirm the verified account, and allow repository synchronization to complete.
3. Authorization and connection problems
- Installation not allowed
- Ask a GitHub organization owner to approve the app or permit the requested installation.
- Repository missing
- Edit the GitHub App installation and add the repository, then allow reconciliation to refresh the selected set.
- Permission update required
- Review the pending permission change in GitHub. Seedling does not broaden an existing installation silently.
4. Missing or delayed data
- Confirm the repository remains selected on the exact GitHub App installation.
- Confirm the repository and requested object are accessible with metadata, contents, issues, and pull-request read permissions.
- Check whether the repository was transferred, archived, renamed, made private, or removed from the installation.
- Allow incremental synchronization and provider retry handling to complete. A temporary provider failure does not delete previously synchronized data.
- If the issue remains, contact support@tryseedling.ai with the Seedling workspace, safe timestamps, and non-sensitive provider record identifiers. Do not include credentials or record contents.
