Linear support

Last updated date:

Connect, reconnect, and troubleshoot Linear without sharing credentials or customer content through support channels.

1. Before you start

  • Choose the Linear workspace and user whose visible delivery records Seedling should read.
  • Create a personal API key for personal setup or a Linear OAuth application with the read scope for workspace setup.
  • Do not grant broader application behavior than the read-only connector requires.
  • Do not send Linear credentials, customer content, personal information, or private record data by email or through an ordinary support ticket.

2. Connect Linear

  1. Create the personal API key or complete the customer-managed OAuth flow.
  2. In Seedling, open Connections, select Linear, and choose personal or workspace scope.
  3. Paste the API key or OAuth access token and connect.
  4. Confirm the verified Linear viewer and allow project and issue synchronization to complete.

3. Authorization and connection problems

Token rejected
Confirm the personal API key remains active or repeat the OAuth flow for the intended workspace.
Wrong workspace
Use a key or OAuth grant issued from the intended Linear workspace; the verified viewer determines account identity.
Private team missing
Confirm the authorized Linear user remains a member of that private team and can open the records natively.

4. Missing or delayed data

  1. Confirm the authorized Linear viewer can open the affected team, project, issue, comment, or attachment.
  2. Check whether the record was archived, deleted, moved to another team, or made private.
  3. Confirm the token still carries read access to the intended workspace.
  4. Allow incremental synchronization and provider retry handling to complete. A temporary provider failure does not delete previously synchronized data.
  5. If the issue remains, contact support@tryseedling.ai with the Seedling workspace, safe timestamps, and non-sensitive provider record identifiers. Do not include credentials or record contents.

5. Rotate or replace access

Never use email or an ordinary support ticket to transfer the old or replacement credential.

  1. Create a replacement personal API key or complete a new OAuth grant with read access.
  2. Replace the credential on the exact Linear connection and confirm the same intended workspace.
  3. Revoke the previous key or OAuth authorization in Linear.
